Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2026

1. What KidLabel is

KidLabel reads the text of an ingredients list from a photo and matches it against a curated database of food additives. It shows labelling and regulatory information recorded in that database. It is an information tool for parents and carers.

2. What KidLabel is not

KidLabel is not medical, nutritional or legal advice, and it does not decide whether a food is safe for an individual child. It does not assess sugar, sweeteners, salt, allergens, calories or overall nutritional quality. Read the full disclaimer.

3. Accuracy

Text extraction from photos can be imperfect, packaging changes over time, and our database is updated periodically. Always check the physical label on the product before making a decision. We provide the service on an "as is" basis without warranties of accuracy or completeness.

4. Acceptable use

  • Use KidLabel for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell our database or results.
  • Do not upload images that contain other people's personal information.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

5. Intellectual property

The KidLabel name, interface and curated database content belong to us. Underlying regulatory sources belong to their respective publishers and are linked from each additive card.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of information shown in KidLabel, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above will change. Questions, corrections or complaints can be sent via the feedback form.
